Ode To A Faithful Laminator

Tongue-in-cheek title for this eternally jammed laminator?

Less than you’d think,…this seven year old piece of technology and I have been through a lot together.

Seven years ago this was a significant purchase, very bittersweet, as I’ve always wanted a “real” laminator, but would never pull the lever on one as they are not cheap, and I was able to get by laminating with tea towels and an iron,…as one does what one has to do when homeschooling.

However when our little guy was diagnosed with apraxia,…intensive speech therapy and picture exchange cards loomed large in our lives,…add flagged autism,…and I didn’t have time for tea towel sandwiched laminating.

Essential vocabulary cards were the first thing to be run through this faithful machine,…then therapy supplies,…signs,…photo collages for new therapists and teachers and our little guy who yet loves these therapy tools. Name tags, toys, games,…and lately our historic history timeline,…but there is a beginning and end to everything,…so symbolic as a sad weekend approaches for us as the passing of an elderly family relation is near.

Cherish your loved ones y’all,…even if they are not lovable,…laminators can be replaced, but people,…never.

Romans 8:37-39

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen,…and amen!
